Good Works: Philippines Disaster Relief Fund

November 11, 2013

“Super-storm” typhoon Haiyan (also known as typhoon Yolanda) hit the island nation of the Good Works PhilippinesPhilippines on November 7-8, 2013, leaving behind a trail of devastation. Possibly the strongest typhoon on record to make landfall, it has affected tens of thousands of people along the coastline.

The United Church of God is greatly concerned for the well-being of those affected by the storm, not just now, but as recovery begins and progresses. We are raising funds to aid in the recovery process. Because assessments of the damage are ongoing we will maintain contact with our associates in the region, who will help us determine how these funds will be most helpful to those affected.

A running blog has been created at www.ucg.org/blog/philippines-disaster-relief-and-updates to give news and information about relief progress. It also includes a link to the relief-funds gauge at goodworks.ucg.org/project/philippines-disaster-relief.

Thank you very much for your concern. Please pray for the peace, comfort, safety and relief of citizens affected by this terrible storm.
