Webcast: Live Young Adult Bible Class (YABC)

The continuing education program of the Ambassador Bible Center and the youth and young adult services arm of Ministerial and Member Services of the United Church of God are excited to launch a new, monthly Young Adult Bible Class (YABC) this coming Friday evening, June 21. The one-hour class begins at 8 p.m. EDT and is available via webcast.
The YABC is issue-driven. It will address current topics of concern and importance to youth and young adults. “Young adults” of all ages are welcome to join us! Each class will feature a downloadable handout connected to the webcast link. In addition to background on the topic and key scriptural passages, it will also contain several questions for you to discuss later with your friends and family.
Just like Jesus Christ’s early apostles did centuries ago, the inaugural YABC takes on today’s societal challenges to true, biblical Christianity in a Bible class titled:
The Clash of Titus and Modern Society
You can find the webcast link on the Ambassador Bible Center (ABC) website for this and future YABC’s under “Upcoming Events.” Presenter this week will be Randy Stiver.

The Cincinnati East, Ohio, congregation of the United Church of God is continuing its bi-weekly Bible study Wednesday night, June 19. The study begins at 7:30 p.m. EDT and is available live via webcast.
The Book of Hebrews Chapter 8.
Join us as we continue an in-depth study of the Book of Hebrews. Chapter 8 covers the topic of the New Covenant. Don’t miss this week’s webcast!

UCG—Australia Renews “Beyond Today” Airtime

United Church of God–Australia has just signed a twelve-month contract with channel 4ME for the Beyond Today program to air on Saturday and Sunday mornings for the next twelve months.
The Beyond Today television program is a very effective means of preaching the Gospel in Australia. Not only does it reinforce our other advertising, but a first time viewer also receives solid biblical teaching. Many of our long-time Good News subscribers have also showed new interest after viewing the program.

New Video: Focus on God’s Work

The home office has released its fifth monthly Focus on God’s Work video about its Information Technology department. Richard Kennebeck, Information Technology manager, gives an overview of the work done by his team, and the auxiliary projects his area undertakes on behalf of serving the Church.
As earlier announced, the plan is for various managers and employees of the United Church of God to give a report about their area of responsibility that may be of particular interest to our congregations. Pastors are asked to make the video links available to our membership, and most videos will be suitable to play in the sermonette timeslot at Sabbath services if desired.
Focus on God’s Work has it’s own menu selection on the member’s website under the “resources” tab at members.ucg.org/content/focus-gods-work. This is where a new video will be posted each month.

“WGN America” Contract Renewed

Beyond Today to begin fourth year telecasting on WGN America
We are pleased report that negotiations with WGN America for renewal of our Beyond Today airtime contract are now complete. Beginning July 7, 2013, the United Church of God will begin its fourth year of telecasting every Sunday on WGN America at 8:30 a.m. EST.
Our new contract runs for two years—until June 28, 2015. It includes a standard 4-week cancellation clause and a very modest price increase of about 1 percent per week for the term. This year WGN America gained about 1-1.5% in household subscribers, up from 75 million to 76.5 million.

The Book of Hebrews Chapters 5, 6 & 7
Join us as we continue an in-depth study of the Book of Hebrews. The writer covers some very foundational doctrines in chapter 6; and talks more about the levitical priesthood, Melchizedek and tithing in chapter 7.
Presenters will be Gary Antion and Randy Stiver.

Magazine Back Issues Available for Member Distribution

An opportunity is now open for members of the United Church of God to further help preach the gospel. Back issues of our magazine are currently available for brethren to distribute to interested friends, relatives, fellow workers and neighbors and/or to drop off at waiting rooms in hospitals, doctor’s offices, auto repair shops, etc. The magazines include:
