  1. Very nicely done.

  2. Very welcoming, and an appropriate length. Attention spans are short, and it makes the point of showing age and demographic diversity, and a friendly environment in just over one minute. Good Job!

  3. Concerned. PREACHING the gospel to all the world is good, required, Inviting anyone to attend services…I can’t find a Biblical or historical example for it in the Church of God. Was it wrong to have a ministry visit with someone before invite him or her to attend services? Not according to worldly values I’m sure. But for those who cherish a safe, holy environment on the holy day for themselves, their children, their brethren, SOME form of discussion before having someone to services may not be, maybe wasn’t in the past, a bad idea?

    • One day God is going to invite all those people into His Kingdom. God is calling the sinners, not the righteous, to repentance. But, if there are divisive people causing problems in the church the minister should deal with them ASAP and not wait until things get out of hand.

    • think about it from a new person’s perspective–if you don’t know where and when we meet they WILL pass you up! how do
I know this? I was looking for the Church that was the closest to the bible. I was ready to try and attend a few COG groups, and the ONLY one that said when or where they met was united so here I am! not being public SCREAMS cult! how do i know this?? I was RAISED in a cult!

  4. It isn’t up to the individual to “find the right place”, as Mr. Meyers states in the video. The Eternal decides who to draw into His truth and His church. This message is no different than any other Protestant church gives. Yes, M. I’m concerned as well. The message is that we’re desperate for new visitors.

    • The welcome video is intended to be viewed by those people who are already looking for the Cincinnati East congregation. These are people who already watch Beyond Today or read the Good News magazine. Once they decide to search for the Cincinnati congregation, we want them to receive a warm, friendly invitation.

    • Wow, I hope we aren’t unfriendly to new visitors and judging why they are there. Is that the attitude Christ would have?

Also, having been a visitor to other churches a few hours away, I would have to say that we need to work on our welcoming skills. Do we notice new people? Do we notice people on their own? Do we go out of our way to say hello, or do we talk to the same people every week? Do we invite people to sit with us if there is a meal? Etc…
