Canada Reaches 30,000 Responses to “Beyond Today”

July 18, 2013

BT Daily MyersAfter seven years on the air, we reached a milestone last week: 30,000 responses from Beyond Today in Canada. A response is considered a request for literature and/or a subscription to The Good News magazine.

The first program aired on May 21, 2006, and we recorded 20 responses. From those humble beginnings just over seven years ago the total number of responses has continued to grow, now averaging 81 per week.

Topics of interest to our viewers include prophecy, finances and what happens after we die. Some of the most popular publications offered on the program include the “Bible Study Course,” “God’s Holy Day Plan: The Promise of Hope for All Mankind” and “The Ten Commandments.”

Several pastors report new people attending Sabbath services whose initial contact with the United Church of God was through Beyond Today. As we move forward with Beyond Today in Canada we look forward to many more encouraging results and God’s blessing.

  3. Encouraging as the numbers are, what number of that became converted members in the 7 years the statement shows.
We can continue to place seed. The real issue is what fertile land we are placing the seeds where we see the fruit of or
investment or just simply claim, ‘well, it is God who calls….” Why don’t we hear actually converted members in each
region the Gospel is preached so that the resources of the Church is wisely attributed where it is meant to feed.

  4. Going where the results will be, is like doing mind reading. We have to broadcast the message over the wide field, by planting, and let God do the watering.

From the time a person first hears the gospel until conversion, it takes time for it to be processed.

God is in charge of the timeline, of who and when and how many comes in.

Our responsiblity is to do our part.

Noah had to preach the gospel to the world, and what were his result for that long stretch dry spell? Zero. God blessed him and all of us by bringing his three sons and wives with him.

I grew up in a small town, and as far as I know there was no family before us or after us that was called in that small town. If the gospel had only gone out in the fifties, to the biggest populace, my family would not have heard the World Tomorrow program.
