Kingdom of God Bible Seminar Held in Kingston, Jamaica

March 8, 2012

The first Kingdom of God Bible Seminar in Jamaica was held on March 3 in Kingston. Invitations were sent to approximately 200 Good News subscribers in the Kingston and Spanish Town areas.

A total of 36 people attended—which happened to be the maximum capacity of the meeting room. Of the 36, 10 were regular attendees of the Kingston congregation, 4 came over from the Ocho Rios congregation and 22 were guests. Three of these guests were not Good News subscribers themselves, but found out about the seminar from someone else. All three requested Good News subscriptions. At least 14 of the guests had no prior Church of God affiliation.

Several United Church of God booklets, Good News magazines, and other UCG literature was made available and eagerly snapped up.

The seminar, presented by Chuck Smith, was titled “Are We There Yet?” It was a look at the end-time prophecies in the Bible as they relate to current world events and the coming Kingdom of God. After the presentation there was a lively question and answer session, followed by refreshments and fellowship. Several guests requested information about the weekly Sabbath service location and time.

The next KOG Bible Seminars will be held during the spring Holy Days in Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. Invitations are being sent to around 300 Good News subscribers in those areas.

The seeds are being planted, and we are praying God will grant the increase as He sees fit.

Chuck Smith—Chuck and his wife, Mary, serve in the Ft. Lauderdale and Vero Beach, Florida, congregations as well as in the Caribbean.

  4. I was blessed to spend the Feast in Jamaica in 2010. The brethren there were such a joy. I am so happy to hear of the success of their first Kingdom of God Seminar. Also was very pleased to hear of the improvement of location and conditions for last years Feast of Tabernacles for the Jamaican Brethren. Will be remembering them and the Smiths in prayer for the upcoming Holy Days and the second planned seminar.
