Announcing: Chicago and West Coast Beyond Today TV Station Additions

June 17, 2011

Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Seattle to Air Beyond Today on New Stations

We are very excited and pleased to report to you that four powerful commercial television stations will soon begin airing Beyond Today programs for the United Church of God.

As you may recall, when Beyond Today began airing on WGN America about a year ago in all 210 U.S. media markets except Chicago, we mentioned our next step would be to add this third largest market to our telecast schedule as soon as funds permitted. That time has now come!

Chicago: Beginning July 10, 2011, Beyond Today will air on Chicago’s ION network station, WCPX-TV. This station covers 100% of the Chicago metropolitan area as well as portions of northwest Indiana and southwest Wisconsin, reaching 3,335,000 households. Our programs will air every Sunday morning on broadcast and satellite channel 38 and cable channel 13 at 9:30 a.m.

Also, since WGN America airs very early on Sunday mornings in the Pacific time zone, it was our desire to reach the area with the Beyond Today telecast at a better airtime. As a result of months of research and negotiation, television stations in the Los Angeles and San Francisco, California and the Seattle, Washington, media markets will be added to our line-up beginning July 10, 2011. Here are the details:

Los Angeles: Beyond Today will air in Los Angeles, the second largest media market in the U.S., on the ION network station KPXN-TV every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Our programs will reach 4,200,000 households (equaling 72% of the market) on broadcast channel 30 and cable channel 8.

San Francisco: Additionally, San Francisco, the sixth largest U.S. media market, will receive Beyond Today on ION network station KKPX-TV on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. on broadcast and satellite channel 65 and cable channel 16. This station’s signal reaches 2,685,596 households throughout San Francisco and a portion of Monterey, equaling 106% of the entire media market.

Seattle: Finally, CBS affiliate station KIRO-TV in Seattle, Washington, the thirteenth largest U.S. Media market, will air our programs every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on broadcast and satellite channel 7.2 and cable channel 117. Interestingly, this station reaches 166% of market (3,105,750 households) because it’s media footprint includes a portion of the Canadian province of British Columbia.

As a result of these additions to the Beyond Today schedule, a total of 13,326,346 additional households will be reached weekly at these new times. We certainly give our Eternal Father and Jesus Christ all the credit and the glory for this important step forward in preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Our grateful thanks also go to you for your effective prayers for the success of our research and negotiations. You can be assured that everyone at the home office deeply appreciates your outstanding help and encouragement. Please continue your diligent prayers that many people will tune-in and respond to God’s Word.

  2. Peter, indeed we praise the Eternal for Christ is now opening all doors and avenues using the most primitive and the most modern means of communications and utilizing all modern and latest gadgets and inventions to ensure that the gospel as preached by the UCGaia will be reaching all nations and languages – – – especially all government and business leaders of this world.

We thank our Almighty God for blessing those who have remained loyal and faithful in supporting the Church and the Work. And we are grateful to the living God for guiding and blessing the labors of all those who are engaged in carrying out the commission and mission of the Church. Let all those who have been “called” be incessant in prayers for more of His grace, mercy, compassion and immense blessings . . .

  3. ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

    Very good news indeed!
Now perhaps, we can direct some of the newer shows
to addressing our nations spiritual depravity and the
solutions that would follow if we all turned to our creator!
Also, I still think that one presenter is the best solution.
Sometimes when a show has one presenter
over three quarters of the program and then
others are brought in at the end, it changes the
focus or tone and becomes a distraction.
Also, some of the additional commenatary
    becomes redundant.

  4. Now that’s the kind of news I like to read on a Sabbath morning. So exciting! Well done Peter and your crew!

  5. How exciting! I feel a surge and have goosebumps, relating this event with the “World Tomorrow Program”, and the elation Mr Armstrong expressed back then, as the work of the church and the spreading of gospel moves onward…

  6. Way to go Peter Eddington!

Personally I like the presenter and guests style. It tends to give more credibility with multiple input.

Even in the last days there will be two witness not one.

    You go guys!!

  8. Someone made the comment to me yesterday, that we should have a nationwide prayer requests for all those in the church that are unemployed, looking and need jobs.
So that there will be more money for the work to get a greater gospel out.
I might add that employment of the brethren worldwide is in great need as well.
It also enables more to attend the feast, and a ripple effect enabling the church to help out the brethren more efficiently to also attend the feast that normally don’t go in Africa and LA. Of course they need it for their households too.

  10. this news is huge! KIRO is even on the cable in calgary!
I can’t wait to hear the news of a station in the other PST cities (such as Portland, San Diego, or Phoenix)

  11. Please use the presenter/guest format and don’t get into the type of presentations like Mr. Petty did in Texas to the live Church audience. The news type format is much more impressive and professional and comes across to both the general and religious public well.

  12. These are F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C news! Now the big cities and their inhabitants are going to be reached by the TV gospel effort. There’s so much sin and vanity concentrated in big city areas… they all need to be reached by God. It’s such a joy to see how our AWESOME Father and his Great Son are doing their Work through this church. God is with us – lets all continue to pray that the efforts of the media department are fruitful and the church’s voice is amplified even more. Looking forward to new updates!
