Beyond Today Goes on the Road

April 7, 2011

A special Beyond Today session will be recorded in San Antonio, Texas, on the Sabbath of April 9. Gary Petty will be recording three new programs in front of the San Antonio congregation at 1:30 p.m. at the congregation’s normal meeting place.

Other Texas-area brethren are invited to attend the video recording, which will take place within the normal setting of Sabbath services. The San Antonio congregation website is found at san-antonio.ucg.org with location details.

We have been extremely pleased with the ongoing increase in viewer response to our weekly program on WGN America. In addition to round-the-clock online access on YouTube and our websiteBeyond Today also appears on numerous cable-access TV stations and across Canada on Vision TV and Star Choice Digital.

The three new Beyond Today programs will cover the following topics. Here are their working titles:

Please pray for the safety of the five-man video crew driving from Cincinnati to San Antonio, and for the success of the recordings and overall production and editing.

  2. This seems like a lot of unnecessary work on the Sabbath.
What will be the context and layout of this recording?
If a second take or some sort of adjustment to the “set” or equipment is needed will services be interrupted for this?

    • Hello Dave,

Services will not need to be interrupted during the recording. They will be similar to weekly Sabbath service recordings that are done around the country every Sabbath for webcasts and local tape library needs.

The only difference is that there will be more than one camera and some additional lighting. There is no “set” to speak of. The three messages will be like three, short, split sermons. There will be no need to interrupt or stop during what will be a normal-length Sabbath service, complete with hymns. opening and closing prayer, announcements and special music.

      All the best.

  3. What a wonderful idea!! Thanks to Gary Petty for his work in this! If we can do this occassionally around the country, it will be a great addition to the program and extension to the people. Christ is truly blessing our efforts and capability! Thanks be to HIM!

  4. I would like to print this notice for the announcements. Is is possible for you to provide a printable version link for this or future postings? I don’t want to print all the extra material and pictures. Thanks,

    Ken

  6. A key phrase in this post to me is “driving from Cincinnati to San Antonio”.

May God help UCG to make every tithe and offering dollar stretch as far as possible, in doing God’s work.

  7. I listened to Session 1. I am excited about it. It is the milk of the word that leads us in our realationships with God and man. Something that everyone needs to be reminded of at times. Helps us to see and swallow the meat. A good thing to let people see what a Sabbath Service is like.
