  1. When I played the video it was fine for thirty seconds then I’d get 2 words then a pause of some seconds then the next 2 words. I’m on satellite modem. Please don’t get technical with reply as I won’t understand a thing that you say!

  4. how much can someone get without signing up? I know I don’t just sign up for websites willy nilly even if its free.
I’ve had a computer available for me to use since i was 5 and internet since the early 90s, and I don’t understand why the new site is necessary.
I’m a BIG fan of if its not broken don’t fix it!

    • Hello

You will still be able to access all you are able to access now without signing up.

Signing up will give people access to profiles, commenting, bookmarking items, and other features.

The new site will be much easier to use, even if people don’t sign up for an account.

  5. The preview video has a glitch. It constantly pauses every few words.

  6. I’m looking forward to the new site! I have a small suggestion. Would it be possible to have photos of actual church people instead of stock photos of actors? I think it would give the site a more “honest” feel, if you know what I mean.

    • Hi Basil

When at all possible we use photos of real members, like on the WFW site and on the Feast site. The UYC media also includes all real members, as does this promo video.

We use stock photos for a number of reasons. First, we don’t have a photographer on staff and we can’t get high quality shots of actual members very easily at all.

Another issue we must deal with, unfortunately, is that sometimes people leave and/or become hostile against UCG. We don’t want them on the cover of a booklet or magazine when they’re actually opposed to the organization.

Hope this clears things up for you.

  7. This is a fantastic way to go where the people are, and relate to their needs through serving them! People will find this site so useful, they will probably book mark it and be frequent users. I can also see how this will be a wonderful tool for those around the world that are some what isolated. Thanks!

  9. I tried to watch the promo, but it stalls after each word, continually. Something must be wrong?
Hope you can get it working.

  10. I also had problems with the video.I tried the other link advised to Robert of 3/13/11 and I had to wait for the video to load, while on pause;and when it was completely loaded, it said READY.Only then would it play. The audio portion was good but the video portion was jerky and sporadic.
