Beyond Today TV Now in Spanish

November 19, 2010

Update From the Spanish Media Department

We have been very busy the last couple of months in the Spanish media department and we have some very exciting news to share. As of yesterday, four of the Beyond Today programs have been fully translated into Spanish and they are now available online for anyone to watch.

In a small family production studio, our brethren in Santa Rosa del Sur, Colombia, started doing Spanish voiceovers for the TV programs after being greatly impressed with the content and production quality. They felt it would be a blessing for other members in their area to have access to it, so they asked for the assistance of a member in the United States to translate the program. And now, two months later, thanks to this group of members in Colombia, the program can now be seen and heard by anyone that speaks Spanish.

Thanks to LifeNets, an organization that helped them set up this production studio 10 years ago, and the many hours that these members have volunteered, we can now reach more people than ever before, without a language barrier.

This program will complement the Las Buenas Noticias magazine as well as the local member bulletin called El Comunicado, along with many booklets and a newly launched Internet advertising campaign. This ad campaign has already received over 4,000 Las Buenas Noticias magazine subscribers after only 10 days on the Internet.

Thank you for your continued prayers as we move forward in preaching the good news of the coming Kingdom of God to the world.

  2. It’s a great thing for members to be able to participate so wholeheartedly in the spreading of the Gospel when they have the support and encouragement of their ministry and brethren in developing their own capabilities for the ministry. Congratulations to the members and to those godly ministers in the US who have served them through their visits to Columbia!

  4. A STATEMENT OF TRUTH.. The current “Council of Elders” is not one known for having dust on their shoes.Keep up the good work of the ministry in following up on “God’s Work” of calling. Satan and the negitive media on the innernet are putting UCG under a never ending artillery barrage of fire. The “Shame of Nakedness” surfaces daily in fulfillment of Revelation third chapter. Trials by fire can only increase the character value of Gold!

  5. When it comes to volunteering, a scripture comes to mind,

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. (Is 6:8)

I wonder if it is possible to hear a little more about their story. What and how things led up to them taking the initiative?

    • Let me introduce myself, I am a member of the Church of God 16 years ago and since then I have been avidly studying biblical teachings. My family started a set of radio and television production supported by Life net that in 2004 decided to give us the technological equipment is now operating in this small city in Colombia, called Santa Rosa in the south.

When the church was without a minister present in Colombia we felt the need to download the sermons of the church website, sermons in English, but reading the translation in vivo, the video stepped forward to reading. So we took on the task of translating the video sermons and append the translation, I think this task, we prepared to do the translation Beyond program today.

This year the church announced the presentation of the program Beyond today with great enthusiasm and this led me to download the program’s website, through a process of translation into Spanish, I get the script of the program I `ll go to hell? that exists only when the accompanying video in English. It is important to acknowledge the support, commitment and collaboration of the Veller family here, and that allowed us to make a tune and faithful translation of the program, especially in Georgia Veller, who provided the script for the program in Spanish

Building teams SIERRA PRODUCTIONS is the name of the family business, we use the voices of two experts on local radio station, Leonardo Sierra and Oscar Sierra, who are professionals in the field, also members of the United Church of God. With them was a work of audio recording of the program, before being subjected to a process of coordination of audio video in English and Spanish, this is because I have a specialization in Information Technology for medium, since I work as a lecturer at local school.

Finally and using rudimentary video process we get the half-hour program, but the translation and the text was made with absolute fidelity to maintain the intent and spirit of the original in English .

I must comment that was initially only for the family in the church of God, but the brothers saw him, and even people who “accidentally” see the video motivated us to share.

It is interesting to note the good production in English, people outside the congregation were interested in seeing more of these programs and access to other literature of the church.

      • Very little surprises me nowadays. I have to admit, a direct reply was not expected. Thank-you.

  9. It seems that this crisis that has been brought on the church and the ministry, has actually been turned into a blessing for further preaching of the gospel.

  10. In all “crises” in the scriptures – NT and OT, in the end, they were a blessing from God. This one will be no different.

Is 55:10-11 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to me void, but shall accomplish what I please, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

God works through those who are truly of willing heaert and mind and have the things of God burning within them. He never spurns this.

We can believe in this and trust this. It is of God and just as sure as God and Christ.

If we act in harmony with God, He will bless us.

If we act in DIS-harmony with God, we will destroy ourselves and have only ourselves to blame.

Pray for ALL of God’s children to see clearly.
