News from the President

May 12, 2010

Since assuming the interim job of president, Norma and I have traveled to Cincinnati on four occasions. We normally drive to Cincinnati on Sunday or Monday of each week, and return to the Cleveland, Tennessee, area on Thursday. This allows us Friday to prepare for the Sabbath, wash clothes, do announcements and prepare a sermon. Then we run the congregation circuit on the Sabbath and duplicate the effort again the next week! The home office staff has been very helpful to both Victor Kubik and me in our desire to serve the Church, which we really appreciate.

BEYOND TODAY: Clint Porter, Gary Petty, Rudy Rangel and Steve Myers prepare for the program, "Getting Control of Your Money."

On Tuesday of this week I did another “About our Father’s Business” program on “God Preparing the Church.” It will be available online on our members Web site before the end of the week.

Today, Gary Petty, Steve Myers and Darris McNeely are in town to shoot three new Beyond Today television programs. It is exciting to watch our men expound biblical truths to a spiritually starved world.

The latest issues of the Good News, World News and Prophecy, and United News have been finalized and distributed. In other news, many new possible opportunities for use of our Web sites are in the discussion phase as well as opportunities for involvement of the local congregations.

Please stay tune for more details as time marches on. May all go well for you as we finish up the work week.

  3. It is exciting to see the presenters EXCITED when presenting biblical truths – their zeal reminds me of that special miracle of my mind when the covering cast and the veil was removed from my eyes 40+ years ago and the Holy Spirit was leading and guiding me into a way and paths that I had not known and making darkness light before me and crooked things straight and discernable. Our Father and His Holy One will truly bless the work of Their hands through Their people. “….Therefore you are My witnesses, says the LORD, that I am God. Indeed before the day was, I am He, and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand, I work, and who will reverse it (Isa. 43:11-13)?” Personally, I am making it a point to recapture the zeal for the truths with which we, the Church, have been graced with through our Father’s Holy Spirit. Keep up the great work.

  4. Another reason to pray for ALL of God’s people who may be traveling each day — that they’ll have safety in their journeys.

    Ministers need that safety, too.

  5. If it were not for UCG being an International Association, I think I’d have become “unchurched” 10 years ago. Thanks for the renewal of zeal on a daily basis, not just the weekly Sabbath, which is very much appreciated!
