Good News! May-June 2010
April 16, 2010
The May-June Good News is now at the printer and proofs have been approved for printing. Sometimes that proof approval process can take awhile since, for cost-saving reasons, the magazine is printed in three locations—the United States, South Africa and Australia. Printing in the two international locations allows us to save considerable money on postage and shipping. Fortunately the entire approval process is done online through password-protected Web sites, so it’s not a big inconvenience to approve proofs at three different plants instead of one.
This issue focuses on the third of three major prophetic trends foretold for the end time. The cover article of the January-February issue, focusing on the decline of the modern Israelite nations, was “Are America’s Superpower Days Numbered?” We followed that with “Europe: A New Superpower on the Rise,” describing what Bible prophecy reveals about where events in that part of the world are leading. The May-June cover theme is “The Middle East: Ground Zero of Bible Prophecy.”
Prophecy has long been a major interest for our readers, as evidenced by the fact that our five booklets on prophecy are regularly in the top 10 booklets most requested. Certainly all the uncertainty in the world has people more keenly focused on world events than was the case a few years ago. We see a deep sense of unease all around us, and that’s a good opportunity to reach people with the truth of what God reveals about the end time and the positive future beyond.
In addition to this issue’s lead article, we encourage you to read the accompanying articles on the roots of Islamic terrorism and what’s behind Iran’s nuclear agenda. Due to political correctness, you won’t see this material appear in your newspapers and newsmagazines. To understand what’s really going on in the world, you need this vital background information. We hope you’ll read and study it carefully.
This issue will be mailed to 388,000 people, with many thousands more accessing it online. With printing and mailing costs continuing to rise—and with our limited financial resources—we appreciate being able to get it into the hands of our readers. Please pray that the message of God’s Kingdom will fall on fertile ground.
